About

This is a Ruff Cuts journey for me. I often have so many stories and lessons to share, but don’t take the time to write them all down. I keep on telling my staff at Kawartha Youth For Christ that they need to write down the great stories in the lives of the youth and families they work with. This is my attempt to lead by example in this.

Enjoy - I hope there is something here for me to refer back to and for you to be encouraged along the way.

The title “my momentum” refers to the reality that each of us grows a little each day, if we take the time to learn from the day’s lessons.

My name is Tim Coles. I am the husband of Christine, the father of Clay and Elijah and hopefully a friend of many and I serve my Lord as the Executive Director of Kawartha Youth For Christ in Peterborough Ontario, Canada.

  1. Hi Tim!

I loved reading your blog. The story about the couple with the newspaper route was amazing. I liked the night run story, too (funny comment about the beef!! I’m recuperating from an appendectomy and am blaming it on some fried pork I had the night before!). We will continue to pray for KYFC while we are here in Korea and I hope the community feasts continue to be a blessing for so many people. God keeps teaching us about serving the poor and oppressed and last week, as I was resting here at home after the surgery, I spent some awesome time praying and reflecting about that. I also listened to two incredible sermons about Christ’s mandate to bring hope to the poor and to set the captives free. Amazing stuff. Please pray that God will open up more opportunities for us here in Daejeon to meet the needs of His people. We’re off to a local orphanage this afternoon with a bunch of our students to help out there, but I know there are many more needs here in this city that we don’t know about.

Think of us when you park for the Petes games this year!

  2. Dear Tim,

I just wanted to send a quick note that I found your blog to be very inspiring and what you are all doing at The Bridge is Fantastic. I think I read every entry due the fact I have some time on my hands right now before heading back to NYC.
Growing up in Peterborough and attending Rhema in my early years then PCVS…I truly wish the Bridge existed then :)
Please keep me in the loop and on any email list you or kyfc may have. Also please let me know when the KYFC.CA site is up too.

    Best,
    Heather Nichols
