and peter
Well, my attempt to finish reporting on my Arrow time has been thwarted yet again. This time by a bad cold that swept through out family. It hit Clay on Tuesday and the rest of us picked it up through out the week. Not a big deal, but has kept me from posting.
I thought I would take some time to continue tonight, but I felt so sick last night that I went to bed at 9:30 - very early for me, which leaves me tonight to finish my sermon for tomorrow morning.
The message I will be preaching on is titled “and Peter”, looking at the angles instructions in Mark 16 to tell the disciples and Peter, to meet Jesus (after His Resurrection) in Galilee.
When I read this story I was struck by how much Peter would have needed that affirmation that he would be included in the ones to go see Jesus after his resurrection. Peter after-all did deni Jesus 3 times just the night before! Put yourself in his shoes. You promise Jesus that you will be committed to Jesus, even if it means costing your life, and just a sort time later, being caught, in the physical sight of Jesus in denial of Him.
I sure have needed that affirmation on more than a few occasions and am so thankful that God reminds me through experiences like Peter’s that He still loves me and that He can still use me. I hope the folks I share this with tomorrow morning are blessed by this message too.
Off to bed. Still quite tired from this cold.

p.s. Clay got his 55th goal today - he now sits at 87 points for the season. A beautiful one-timer fed to him from a team mate Adam who hit Clay with a beauty tape to tape pass at the hash marks. Lots of fun watching our kids.
