arrow leadership – executive track

Ok, so I forgot to take my camera. this is not my Arrow Class but it gives you a sense.

Post 5 days of blog postings, journaling the journey. First day summary, then tell the story of each day.

What a ride! I have had one of the most challenging and exciting weeks of my life in leadership. I needed to wait until the end of the week to begin writing about this and telling the story because it was difficult and I knew I needed to see the end of the week before I could unpack it.

At the end of this first leg of my journey I am returning to Kawartha Youth For Christ and my family with a clearer sense of vision, greater confidence and the tools for a plan.

Vision – I have been given tools to help clear my head space and to deal with challenges that I face both at home and at YFC.

Confidence – all the knowledge I have received has been packaged in such a way that I can see examples of its practical application. Did you know that “the practical application of knowledge is wisdom”? Dr. Bill McRae

Tools – over $10,000 worth of professional consulting in five days with lots of practical application: I feel have seen a new way and can apply it to YFC.

Over the next five months I will be meeting monthly with my leadership partner, retired lawyer and foundation president Miller Alloway. I appreciate this man and the great wisdom he brings to our conversations. I will also be developing a leadership plan – how I can apply what I have and am learning. Next Module will be on an island on the B.C. coast in mid June at a place called “Barnabas”.

I hope you enjoy reading about my leadership journey with Executive Arrow over the next five day’s posts.

Enriched,

Tim Coles
